Resin Mould Making Workshop
In this workshop with Nadine Sharpe from Own Sweet Time, students will learn how to make a one part mould of a bangle and a ring, or an item of their choice. They will also learn how to cast in fast-curing resin, as well as how to embed items using slow curing resin.
This workshop will take students step by step through how to make a mould of one of their favourite bangles & rings, or another appropriate piece, or use one of Own Sweet Time's designs. This mould will be able to be used again and again to create further pieces at home.
While the mould is curing, students learn the art of resin casting, using Own Sweet Time's silicone moulds to cast a bangle and a ring, in the colour of their choice. A second casting will then be done in the newly created mould, learning more creative casting techniques.
Using slow curing resin allows students to discover more creative casting techniques, including embedding objects and using fillers, as well as learning how to manipulate the resin for interesting results.
We will cover hand-sanding techniques, so the pieces will be finished to highest standards.
Outcome: students will go home with moulds of their chosen pieces, plus 2 cast rings and 2 cast bangles.
Sunday 12 May, 10.30am - 3.30pm (includes a break for own-catered lunch).
