Unblocking Creativity with Hannah Surtees
Hannah Surtees won the major art prize, together with her partner Mark, at this year’s Sculpture at Scenic World exhibition, and has a solo exhibition of new work coming up at Platform Gallery. But before that, she experienced a long period of creative block. Hannah had been producing commercial work for clients for so long that she had lost her own style. She knew she had to try something drastically different to rediscover her creativity.
In this Unblocking Creativity workshop, Hannah will guide you through the series of exercises she used to unblock her creativity, which laid the groundwork for her latest body of work, and which she has now incorporated into her daily creative practice. This workshop is for anyone experiencing a creative block – whether you want to write, draw, paint, play music or practice any form of creativity. No specific creative skills are needed, just an open mind and willingness to let go and follow the process. Hannah is an experienced teacher who has developed effective tools, exercises and processes for tapping into creativity, breaking through blocks and finding your flow.
