We are a week into sculptural weaver April Erzetich’s exhibition, Community Cloth, where April is weaving on her floor loom on the gallery floor throughout June. Already she has produced some amazing work from donated items of fabric – from abstract wall hangings to teeny tiny bags. Because April is creating throughout her exhibition it made no sense to have a launch party – how would anyone get to see the new work?
So instead we’re having a mid-exhibition celebration for her. Come along on Friday 23rd June (the night before Winter Magic!) for a drink and to see April’s exciting new work – as well as a retrospective of some earlier pieces. Full details in our Facebook event here.
And there’s still time to contribute items for April to interweave with others’ to make new work – drop off your unwanted clothes, wire, leather strips, bits left over from sewing projects and anything else you’d like to see become part of beautiful new art works.
Plus you can pop in most days to see April weaving in the gallery – she’s very happy to talk you through her incredible process and practice.
Happy Winter Magic, everyone!
